Inhibin, alpha (R1)

Anti–inhibin alpha is an antibody against a peptide hormone which has demonstrated utility in the differentiation between adrenal cortical tumors and renal cell carcinoma.1,2 Sex cord stromal tumors3-9,11,13 of the ovary as well as trophoblastic tumors10,12 also demonstrate cytoplasmic positivity with this antibody. This antibody has been used to make the differential diagnosis of intrauterine vs. ectopic pregnancy in endometrial curettings.12
